Registration

Teams are required to follow the below steps to ensure they are eligible and well prepared for the competition.

Before Registration

Find an Academic advisor
An academic advisor is required for all teams before registration.

Select a Team Lead
1-2 student team leads are required for all teams before registration.

Recruit a team
Recruitment is independently run by each organisation. Teams need to manage their own recruitment.

  • We strongly encourage teams to have completed sufficient member recruitment before registration. However, teams do not need to have all members confirmed before registration.

  • Teams may continue to recruit/change throughout the competition (as we understand every institution has a different schedule).

Submit entry form
Complete our *Entry Form and provide all required documents. Once the entry form has been submitted:

  • Teams will be added to our mailing lists

  • Teams will be invited to private events

  • Teams will receive private benefits (e.g. software access)

After Registration

Preliminary Report Submission

The Preliminary Report is the first deliverable of the competition.
The purpose of which is:

  • To assess the teams’ progress and proposed work.

  • To evaluate the sufficiency of support provided by an academic advisor.

  • To collect demographic data of the competing team.

Make entry fee payment
To participate in this competition, each team will be required to register for an ISMCS Group Membership.

  • The fee to obtain this membership is $350 USD.

  • One group membership is required per team.

When purchasing a membership:

  • Visit the Purchase Membership page

  • Nominate 4 team members to be registered on the membership.
    (We recommend you include your advisor and team leads.)

  • Provide the information below in the comment section:
    Heart Hackathon - "Team Name", University, Country
    Team member 1 - Role
    Team member 2 - Role …

Proof of this payment is due with your Preliminary Report Submission, when Registration Closes.

The payment procedure is outlined in the *Entry Form. You will be informed of your acceptance status upon the Entry Form submission and timeline entry fee payment.
